Rohde & Schwarz and mimoOn to demonstrate 3GPP LTE femtocell testing capability at CTIA
At the upcoming CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate LTE frequency division duplexing (FDD) testing capabilities based on the newest femtocell design from mimoOn. The compact test setup features the R&S SMBV100A vector signal generator and the R&S FSV signal analyzer that accurately generate and analyze LTE signals that meet the newest specification.
The The R&S SMBV100A vector signal generator eases the task at hand by a graphical user interface and internal signal setup and generation. With the R&S SMBV-K55 option the creation of LTE up- and downlink signals of excellent quality is straight forward and convenient. The R&S FSV signal and spectrum analyzer offers a broad analysis bandwidth of 40 MHz. The two instruments are the latest additions to a comprehensive product portfolio covering a variety of wireless standards including LTE, HSPA+, and WiMAX. Rohde & Schwarz test solutions support the latest 3GPP specifications, and are applicable from design and production through conformance testing of components and mobile terminals.
mimoOn, a leader in software defined radio (SDR) solutions for LTE, offers a product portfolio that includes the LTE physical and protocol stack layers as well as reference designs for eNB and UE. The software is written in high-level language and is modular so it is easy to modify or customize – an important feature as the standards for LTE continue to be revised.
“mimoOn is the first in the world to offer an end-to-end MIMO LTE software solution on flexible, upgradeable platforms,” stated Thomas Kaiser, chief executive officer of mimoOn. “Our fully-featured and certified infrastructure software has been integrated on multiple industry-leading femtocell platforms and includes advanced schedulers, cognitive radio technology, and performance-optimized MIMO techniques. The demonstration with Rohde & Schwarz shows that mimoOn’s solutions are standards-compliant and market ready and will enable operators to meet time-to-market objectives for deploying LTE femtocell networks.”
