Atmel Corporation today announced it is accepting registrations for Atmel Technology Live (ATL), the company’s first developers’ conference that will be held September 11-13, 2012, at the San Jose Convention Center.
ATL is an exclusive opportunity to interact with Atmel’s thought leaders, and to meet the Atmel Technology Experts behind the company’s products. The three-day conference promises to deliver over 150 hours of technical hands-on workshops, live product demos, technology updates and announcements, and exciting panel discussions and keynotes.

Attendees can choose from a broad range of class offerings from beginner to advanced levels, with topics ranging from how to design with Atmel products to learning how to optimize a system’s performance. Course examples include:

• “Minimizing Power Consumption in Embedded Applications,” a two-hour presentation on how to use Atmel AVR® products to minimize power consumption.

• “Accelerated Development with Atmel Cortex-M4, Atmel Software Framework (ASF) and Atmel Studio 6,” a four-hour hands-on training on how to develop, debug and deploy an application using the latest Atmel Studio and ASF on a SAM4S Xplained board.

• “Measuring Capacitive Touch Sensing Performance,” a one-hour lecture to learn about the metrics used to quantify touchscreen performance.

Finalists from the recently announced University Program Robotics Contest will also take center stage on Day 1 with the winners announced at the end of the contest demonstration. An “Arduino Design Contest” is also scheduled during ATL; contest registrants will implement a design using Arduino interface boards in just four hours.

“We are all inspired to create innovative designs using the latest technologies,” said Alf-Egil Bogen, one of the inventors of the AVR microcontroller and CMO at Atmel Corporation. “At ATL, we have created an event to bring the engineering community together to share the latest ideas and best practices. Combined with an extensive training, development and hands-on program, ATL will be the annual event to inspire engineers around the world to bring their unique concepts to market.”
