ProVision Communications, a world leader in multi-room streaming of wireless HD video technology, has appointed Matthew Trowbridge as chairman and member of the board, replacing founding director, Professor David Bull.
Matthew joins ProVision from Renesas Technology Europe, where he held the role of managing director and chief executive officer before being appointed as chairman in 2009.

Speaking about his new position Matthew Trowbridge said, ProVision has created a world beating technology that can reliably and robustly stream multiple HDTV signals throughout an entire home using WiFi. Many in our industry thought this was not possible.

I look forward to making use of my experience in the company's key markets to drive ProVision's continued success as the company transitions from a technology developer to a revenue generating licensing company.

Steve Cliffe, ProVision's CEO said, Matthew joins the company at an exciting time and, with his track record in senior management and board positions, is well placed to guide ProVision through its next stage of development. I am personally delighted that Matthew has joined the company as chairman.

Matthew joined Renesas Technology Europe in 2003 following its creation in a merger of the semiconductor businesses of Hitachi Europe and Mitsubishi Electric Europe. Prior to this he held the role of chairman at SuperH Inc, a joint venture between ST Microelectronics and Hitachi, and executive general manager of Hitachi Europe's Electronics Components Group.

Steve Cliffe added, I would like to thank Professor David Bull for his tremendous contribution as chairman and am extremely pleased that the appointment of Matthew allows him to focus on his role as CTO responsible for video and signal processing.

ProVision's technology is sold under an IP licensing model and will be integrated into set-top-boxes and TVs from major consumer electronics manufacturers and multinational OEMs.
