OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has announced its broad participation at the exhibition and seminar of Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2009. HK Lighting Fair is one of the largest lighting shows in Asia. Held from October 27 to 30, the fair will feature over 1,700 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions. OSRAM is going to showcase products ranging from LED components to LED luminaires for commercial and consumer markets.
Small size and high-power are two dynamics of LED trend due to different applications. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors’ broad product portfolio can meet different requirements from various applications. In the booth, we will demonstrate two new LED components, Golden DRAGON Oval Plus and OSLON SSL. Golden DRAGON Oval Plus LED is specifically designed for street lighting. With its oval beam characteristics (80° vertical, 120° horizontal) and integrated long-life silicone lens, it meets the unique requirements for energy-efficient street illumination and minimal light pollution.

OSLON SSL with package size of 3 x 3mm is one of the world’s smallest LEDs in the 1W sector. It can handle high current efficiently due to its excellent thermal management. All these attributes enables lighting fixture designers having more flexibility to create energy-efficient and cost saving lighting solutions. The ideal applications include spotlights, desk lights and ceiling floodlights. We will show OSRAM’s COINlight Power down-light with OSLON SSL LED as light source in our booth.

“LEDs are a reliable light source of choice for various applications due to their robust nature, long life, energy saving and low total ownership costs. OSRAM is committed to develop state-of-the-art LED technologies to lead the industry and to serve the market,” said Dr. Alfred Felder, President & CEO of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors Asia Ltd.

Another highlight of the OSRAM display is the desktop OLED luminaire “Shamrock” which is with 15 pieces of OLEDs and with dimming feature. This prototype proves that OSRAM is not only developing light source for future lighting, but also for “the future of future lighting”.

Other than exhibition, experts from OSRAM will also deliver two speeches during the Lighting Fair, including “Innovations and New Applications in Solid State Lighting” by Dr Bernhard Stapp on 28th October and “LED Adoption, Technology & SSL Applications” by Samuel Fok on 29th October.

Those wishing to discover more about OSRAM Opto Semiconductors and the many genuinely eye opening opportunities opened up by its OLED technologies should visit our booth at 1C17-28/30/32 & 1C18-27/29/31 of Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2009.
