Official Huawei Website to Permanently Enable IPv6
Huawei, today announced that www.huawei.com will be permanently accessible through IPv6 from June 6, 2012, in a move intended to accelerate the global momentum of IPv6 deployment. On World IPv6 Day in 2011, an event organized by the Internet Society, Huawei was the only telecom equipment vendor in China to pass the IPv6 deployment test.
AlonHuawei is actively involved in the deployment of IPv6 and cooperates with many top international operators, including Vodafone (U.K.), France Telecom, SingTel (Singapore), China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom. Together with its partners, Huawei has verified interim technical solutions, proposed the next-generation IPv6 migration roadmap, and designed solutions to address IPv4 address exhaustion. Huawei has also successfully deployed interim technical solutions to overcome the challenges of large-scale deployment of private IP addresses on live networks.
Gai Gang, President of Huawei Carrier IP Product Line, said: Networks, services, and terminals are curbing IPv6 deployment. At present, Huawei is capable of providing an industry-leading end-to-end IPv6 solution that integrates equipment, applications, and services. Huawei's active participation in the World IPv6 Launch is only the starting point in our ongoing support of global efforts to further develop the IPv6 industry.
Huawei provides over 70% of the network equipment used for China's Next Generation Internet, the world's largest IPv6 network, which has operated stably for seven years. With cooperation from China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, Huawei has successfully deployed IPv6 networks in cities across China, including Shenzhen and Shanghai. Huawei IPv6 products and solutions have also served major international exhibitions, such as World Expo 2010 Shanghai, World Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi'an, ASEAN Expo 2011 Yulin, and Universiade 2011 Shenzhen.
