Murata Power Solutions, formerly known as C&D Technologies Power Electronics Division, has decided to combine its product development and marketing teams under a single management line. This has resulted in the appointment of John Wanes as the Business Lead for AC/DC Products designed at its Toronto location and build-to-print services supported by the business unit.
The changes will give the business unit responsibility for its own technology roadmaps, business development strategies for product line growth and overall management and deployment of resources in the areas of product and business development. Customers can expect to benefit from accelerated product development cycles and improved responsiveness. This will help them to get their own products to market more quickly and efficiently.

John is an experienced professional having spent over 22 years in the power industry. He has been with Murata Power Solutions / C&D Technologies since 1991. He started with the company as a Project Engineer and progressed through various other positions of increasing responsibility including Director of Power Development and Director of Advanced Development.

Since 2005 John has been involved in formulating the product and technology roadmaps for the company’s AC/DC product lines in his role as Director of Technology Development.

John holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Commenting on the reorganisation and the new appointment, Dr William Bachrach, President of Murata Power Solutions, said: “The changes that we have implemented in the AC/DC business unit will empower its employees and help it reach its true potential. In John Wanes we have appointed a business lead with a vast amount of experience and significant achievement within the power industry.”
