Molex congratulates Nelson Piquet for his FIA Formula E performance
Molex is pleased to congratulate Nelson Piquet Jr, son of the former Formula One World Champion, for his first place finish in the FIA Formula E Championship, the world's first fully-electric racing series, along with his team NEXTEV TCR, who stand fourth in the constructors’ ranking.
As proud sponsors of NEXTEV TCR (formerly China Racing), Mouser Electronics and Molex have followed the team during its 10-city tour, which kicked off in Beijing and ended recently in London. Piquet, who just signed a multi-year deal to remain with NEXTEV TCR, secured the drivers’ title with a total of 144 points and receiving the most FanBoost votes.
“The NEXTEV TCR team proved to be highly talented and dedicated to not only delivering strong performances but elevating the status of electric vehicles to the racing community and the world at large,” said Fred Bell, Vice President, Distribution, Molex. “We congratulate the entire group and send a special message to Nelson Piquet for his first place finish in what was a thrilling inaugural racing series.”
Molex continues to develop interconnect solutions that help advance the entire automotive industry; some examples include the CMC Connection System, used in powertrain applications including ECUs, compartment applications, gearboxes, electronic parking brakes and suspension controllers; MX150 Sealed Connector System which supports low-level signal and power applications for on-engine automotive applications and Stac64 connectors, which offer a diverse range of circuit sizes to address the growing electronic device requirements within today's vehicles.
