Lumen Dynamics Group Inc has entered into a cross-licensing of intellectual property (IP) patents with UK based Integration Technology Limited (ITL). This agreement will expand the accessibility of customers in the UV printing, coatings and adhesive markets to advance ultra-violet light-emitting diode (UV LED) technology and help to promote the adoption of UV LEDs.
Under the patents, users are able to control individual segments of a UV LED array to optimize performance, managing the power intensity across the array to optimize cure efficiency, and improve array servicability. The Lumen patent allows for optimization of performance and specifically addresses managing the varying power intensity across the array to optimise cure efficiency.

LDGI is committed to providing customer solutions through the innovative application of light within the life sciences, medical devices, optoelectronics and graphics digital printing markets. A pioneer in light technology, LDGI enhances the ability to control LEDs to achieve high output power, manage the operating temperature of LEDs and maintain the output of LEDs over their lifetime. The patent, filed in 2001 and granted in 2004, stems from extensive high power LED-array research work that LDGI performed in the late 1990s

“Lumen Dynamics's commitment to continuously be at the forefront of innovation and deliver leading UV curing solutions with the highest performance and simplicity led us to recognize the benefits of UV LED technology very early on when it first became available” says Allan Firhoj, President and CEO at LDGI. “LDGI continues to take significant strides towards technological innovation with a customer focus and bringing these two patents together not only strengthens both companies’ portfolios of UV LED curing solutions but reinforces our position as a pioneer in UV LED curing property rights.”
