Lighting Industry’s Top Award Given to Sunovia’s EvoLucia Cobra Head
Sunovia Energy Technologies’ EvoLucia LED Cobra Head SCHX5 was given the award for Best Outdoor Street Light, in its class, by the U.S. Department of Energy, the International Association of Lighting Designers and the Illuminating Engineering Society in the 2010 Next Generation LuminairesTM Solid State Lighting Design Competition. Sunovia has once again proven that the EvoLucia Aimed OpticsTM technology can outperform the industry Goliaths.
ThisThe DOE, IALD and IES thoroughly evaluated five of EvoLucia’s Aimed Optics TM LED Cobra Head units. Their evaluation focused on the lowest glare, highest efficiency, best thermal management, highest uniformity and most efficient optics. After their intense evaluation, the EvoLucia SCHX5 was praised by the judges for its glare control, uniformity and efficacy. EvoLucia’s SCHX5 LED was the only outdoor roadway/ parking luminaire in that category recognized with an award. In addition, the SCHX5 LED was selected to be a product that the judging panel would recommend to lighting specifiers.
Bob Fugerer, Chief Technology Officer of Sunovia, stated “The entire team at EvoLucia applauds the DOE, IALD and IES for advancing the awareness and market-acceptance of innovative LED lighting technologies that are worthy of specification by lighting designers. There is no question that LEDs are setting new standards for general illumination lighting. We are delighted that the distinguished judging panel has recognized the pace-setting efficiencies in energy and light utilization that our Aimed OpticsTM technology has made possible in next generation LED roadway and parking area luminaire design.”
EvoLucia Aimed LED LightingTM is not only more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly than many other light sources; it is also much more effective. Sunovia’s proprietary optical light patterns allow for a 20 percent more efficient light while using 10 percent less energy than its LED competitors. Through EvoLucia’s patent pending Aimed OpticsTM technology, 10 percent less overall light is needed when the light is correctly focused on the target area, which allows for more efficient lighting solutions.
