International Conference on Next Generation Networks & Basestations tackles goes ‘Green’

Prominent speakers from leading operators Vodafone, NTT DoCoMo, Telefonica 02, Teliasonera, BT (British Telecom), T-Mobile, Telecom Italia, Carphone Warehouse will share a platform with Industry Analysts from Deloitte, Yankee Group, ABI Research, Cartagena, Arete, Deutsche Bank, Frost & Sullivan and major network vendors Nokia Siemens Networks, ZTE, Huawei, Ericsson, Qualcomm, Motorola, Alcatel-Lucent, at the annual NGN & Basestations Conference in Bath, UK, 22nd-25th April, 2008.
Keynote speaker John Carvalho, Head of Core Innovation at 02 will open the conference by examining the challenges and opportunities faced by mobile operators seeking to capture business from the fixed line carriers.

One of the hot topics to be debated is the deployment of home basestations / femtocells with both T-Mobile and Vodafone announcing likely commercial deployments in 2008. Green Basestations and Networks are also flavour of the month and the conference will be taking a long hard look at the claims made by vendors and operators alike to be eco friendly.
