Green Hills Software to Showcase Operating System with CENELEC EN 50128 Railway Safety Certification at Innotrans
GreeGreen Hills Software, Inc., the largest independent vendor of embedded software solutions, will be showcasing its safety-certified railway system solutions at the Innotrans Fair in Berlin, 21-24 September 2010, in Hall 5.1, booth 114. Innotrans is an international industry showplace focusing on Railway Technology.
The Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety has achieved a SWSIL 4 safety certification for its INTEGRITY® RTOS (real-time operating system) for the stringent CENELEC EN 50128 standard, which targets software for railway control and protection systems. Certified by both TÜV and Exida, the INTEGRITY RTOS has received the highest assurance level possible against this safety standard for an individual software component, such as an operating system.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Bombardier, the global leader in rail technology, is partnering with Green Hills Software to develop the safety platform for its next-generation Train Control Management System (TCMS) that will simplify maintenance and aid the certification process. The TCMS will use the Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety.
The certified INTEGRITY operating system forms the core of the Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety, a comprehensive solution that comprises tools, operating system, secure guest OS virtualization, services, and middleware aimed at reliability-critical industrial control, transportation, railway, nuclear control and automation systems. By incorporating the Green Hills certified operating system into safety-critical systems, along with available middleware and support services from Green Hills, customers significantly reduce their risks, development costs, and time to certify their end products.
By adopting Green Hills Software’s safety-certified INTEGRITY RTOS, developers are able to safely partition independent applications of multiple levels of safety criticality concurrently on a single processor and platform. The INTEGRITY safety-proven architecture enables applications to be partitioned in a way to ensure that an error or failure in one application cannot impact or compromise another application.
The Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety addresses applications such as:
- Computer-based Train Control
- Automatic Train Operation
- Train Protection Systems
- Complex Interlocking and Signaling Applications
- Safe and Secure Network Management
