IBS reports positive customer feedback for Toshiba’s ASIC and Foundry Services
Toshiba Electronics Europe’s ASIC & Foundry Business Unit has received customer recognition for its system-on-chip (SoC) design and manufacturing support and availability of speciality IP, according to a new report from independent consultants, International Business Strategies (IBS).
The As well as 65nm, 90nm and 0.13µm processes, Toshiba also offers 40nm solutions and is currently developing 32nm technologies. Custom SoC services include access to a comprehensive line-up of IP including mixed-signal and analogue blocks and embedded memories. Flexible development platforms speed turn-around-time (TAT) and reduce risk. Local engineering support and tools are available for European customers through Toshiba’s ELDEC (European LSI Design & Engineering Centre) facility in Düsseldorf.
Discussing the customer inputs in the IBS report, Armin Derpmanns, the general manager for Toshiba’s ASIC and Foundry Business Unit, states: “This is further evidence that the combination of processes, IP, services, development platforms, tools and local support encompassed by our IDM business model delivers real benefits to customers as they look to achieve SoC design objectives quickly and cost effectively. It encourages us to strengthen our product offering towards COT/Foundry and related mixed business models to support customer requirements in the market.”
