Horizon Quantum product wins Best 4G Enabling Technology Innovation
xchange magazine presented DragonWave with the Best of 4G Award for DragonWave’s new Horizon Quantum packet microwave solution in the Best 4G Enabling Technology Innovation category. The awards recognize leaders in the development, deployment and service of next-generation telecom technology. Nominations were open to all parties involved in 4G technology, products and services, and selected by a panel of 4G subject matter experts.
DragonWave received the Best 4G Enabling Technology Innovation award during ceremonies on September 16th at the 4G World conference and expo (www.4gworld.com) in Chicago. DragonWave and their award will be featured on the xchange and 4G World Web sites.
“The innovation and effort that have been demonstrated by DragonWave reflect the type of leadership that continues to drive opportunity and benefits throughout the emerging 4G industry,” said Eliot Weinman, conference chair and president, Events Division of Yankee Group. “We extend our sincere congratulations to DragonWave on behalf of the entire industry.”
“We are thrilled to have been selected for this award.” said Peter Allen, DragonWave’s president and CEO. “The inflection of 4G Networks represent a whole new wave of infrastructure expansion and we are extremely excited to be bringing Horizon Quantum forward at this particular moment to support the rapidly expanding Mobile Broadband environment.”
With up to 4 Gbps per link, the Horizon Quantum delivers the next generation in packet microwave technology. Quantum is a step change in capacity, nodal intelligence, spectral efficiency and operational simplicity, yet it occupies only half a rack unit and consumes the lowest power per bit of any packet microwave solution today. The carrier-grade DragonWave solution enables 99.999% service reliability, delivers advanced security and encryption and fully supports SynchE and other critical Ethernet data transport capabilities such as virtual local area network (VLAN) queuing/prioritization, flow control and jumbo packets. Ultra-low latency, hitless Automatic Adaptive Modulation and XPIC support mean that Quantum is optimized for tomorrow’s high capacity networks. The solution delivers interference-free performance in both licensed and unlicensed radio frequencies in the 6 to 38-GHz range. Quantum is easy to install, configure and maintain and can be remotely managed.
The Best of 4G Awards winners were selected by an independent judging panel that consisted of Yankee Group; Maravedis Inc.; Rethink Research and Farpoint Group.
