Hitex Development Tools was a significant project partner in the realization of the new, innovative platform for medical devices recently launched by Infineon. With the successful completion of this project, Hitex impressively underlines its expertise as a development and production service provider.
The Medical Platform MD8710 from Infineon is ideally suited for applications such as electronic blood sugar or blood pressure meters, which can transmit their readings automatically via mobile communication. The solution is based on the high-performance 32-bit ARM Cortex-R4 controller, which is extended by a high-precision analog analysis stage allowing the control of sensor signals and environment variables via high resolution ADCs/DACs.

The platform’s performance can be visualized by a demonstrator that has been developed and produced with the involvement of Hitex. On the basis of already available driver libraries the system can be used for further development. The provided tools – the Hitex debugger Tantino for the support of MD8710 and the GNU Compiler – are also part of the MD8710 evaluation kit.
