Boulting Group has been awarded the Order of Distinction at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Health and Safety Awards 2017. The awards, which were held at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel, celebrate organisations’ commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Boulting Group was named a winner at the awards after achieving 23 consecutive golds for its health and safety performance, which was assessed against the judging criteria.

To achieve gold standard, Boulting Group demonstrated a rigorous approach to occupational health and safety with excellent management systems and company culture. High levels of compliance were clearly visible with control measures for principal risks.

During the RoSPA Awards scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

“Our Health and Safety Team - ably led by Martin Glover - has established a robust and flexible health and safety management system, underpinned by proactive day to day management. This has been consistently recognised and rewarded by multiple assessment and accreditation bodies and clients alike,” explained Terry Marston, executive director at Boulting Group.

“This type of continued recognition only serves to underpin our year on year top quartile health and safety performance, which is undertaken within the complex and highly regulated engineering construction sector.

“Our sustained high levels of health and safety performance, culminating in this prestigious RoSPA award, is a recognition for which both I and my fellow directors are rightly very proud.”

“The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious occupational health and safety awards in the world and achieving the standard required is no small feat,” added Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events. “This is a special year in the history of RoSPA and we congratulate all of our winners in this, our centenary year.”

The majority of RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years. For the first time in 2017, the Patron’s Award has been presented to those organisations that have achieved consecutive gold awards for 25 years or more.
