Fujitsu presents ‘Right-Sized’ Solutions at Embedded World 2012
Innovative and scalable solutions for Industrial, Embedded and Automotive markets will be among the highlights of next year’s Embedded World trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany. Visit Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe (FSEU) in hall 4, booth 228. Attend the FSEU presentation on “Secure Hardware Extension” taking place during the workshop on Embedded Security.
FujiProduct highlights
• The FM3 family of 32-bit RISC microcontrollers is based on the industry-standard ARM® Cortex™-M3 processor core. These high-performance products were first introduced in autumn 2011. The product line offers CAN and USB2.0 functionality and supports the industry’s first 2-channel Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC) in a Cortex-M3 microcontroller (FM3 Twin Ethernet). The series is designed for processing-intensive, and communications-orientated systems. FM3 products are ideal for use in a wide range of networked applications, including industrial systems equipment, inverter controllers, servomotor controllers, building/home energy management systems (BEMS/HEMS) and other eco-management equipment well as office automation. Besides the Twin Ethernet products, several other FM3-based solutions will be presented: FM3 Touch, FM3 Motor Control and FM3 USB.
• The FCR4 product family was developed as an innovative and scalable solution for hybrid clusters that combine traditional instrument clusters with graphical displays. With their integrated Flash memory, the FCR4 MCUs and Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) are ideal as Single-Chip-Solutions or can be combined with other products to implement highly efficient systems for virtual or free programmable clusters. The FCR4 products offer a powerful architecture based on the ARM Cortex R4 processor core and Fujitsu’s 2D ‚IRIS‘ Graphics Engine. They offer safety, security and power-saving features and are optimized for demanding applications in automotive systems.
• The 16FX MCUs (MB96600 series) are based on Fujitsu’s 16FX CPU. Delivering performance in the range of15-20MIPS, this CPU is proven in many automotive and industrial applications. Fast interrupt handling (10 clock cycles for INT start and 9 clock cycles for INT return) and powerful DMA functions qualify these MCUs for demanding control applications. An additional benefit of this product family is its intelligent peripherals that significantly reduce CPU load.
• Further solutions featured at Embedded World will be ‘Indigo2’ and ‘Emerald’ graphic controllers as well as the FR81S product family. The versatile, scalable FR81S 32-bit microcontrollers are designed for automotive body and comfort applications and offer extended features for diagnosis and control of load switching as well as support for functional safety. Fujitsu Semiconductor’s system approach strategy is supported by Fujitsu Semiconductor Embedded Solutions Austria (FEAT), providing software solutions tailored to customers’ needs in areas such as automotive HMIs or cluster applications. FEAT will present CGI Studio, a software development platform for hybrid 2D and 3D graphical interfaces (HMI/GUI) for automotive systems.
Embedded Data-Security presentation
Wolfgang Wiewesiek, Marketing Manager Automotive Networks at FSEU, will host a presentation entitled “Secure Hardware Extension” on February 28, from 13:00 to 13:30 CET. During a full-day “Workshop on Cryptography and Embedded Security“, various experts will debate the latest developments in the field of data security in networked systems. In automotive applications, this topic becomes increasingly relevant especially in relation to car-to-car (C2C) communications and car-to-infrastructure (C2X) communications. Wolfgang Wiewesiek will discuss the role of embedded data security in automotive systems and will highlight some of the key applications in this market.
