Returning to China after nearly 20 years

This year marks the second time that the FISITA World Automotive Congress will take place in China, the first having been in 1994. Over the past 18 years, there has been a huge change in the automotive industry, and now people have more confidence in the development of this industry. Now the organizers are looking forward to bringing together engineers from all over the world in China. Crane Fan, Managing Director at NürnbergMesse China, explained how the new trade show will enhance the congress: “Confidence in China’s automotive industry is on the rise. There is clearly a demand for such an event, as evidenced by the eminent companies that are sponsoring the event.” These include FAW, Volkswagen, AUDI, BMW, TOYOTA, BAIC, GEELY and GM.

Opening a window to the Chinese market

Nearly 120 exhibitors have so far signed up to this year’s FISITA 2012 Exhibition. The event consists of five exhibition segments: New Energy Car, Engine, Transmission and Powertrain, Car Body, Automotive Electronics and Manufacturing Equipments. In contrast with other trade shows, the local OEM exhibitors, such as SAIC, DFM, BAIC, FAW, JAC, and GEELY, will focus on automobile design and engineering parts. In the area of spare parts, international exhibiting companies include AAM, DELPHI, ZF and BOSCH as well as local companies like WeiChai Power. In addition, many manufacturing companies, such as ABB, KUKA and TRUMPF, have announced their participation.

5,000 visitors from the supply and manufacturing chains of the automotive industry are expected to attend the three days show. The majority of visitors, around 60 percent, are expected from China. The remainder is divided between participants from all over the world, including 163,000 professional automotive engineer FISITA members from 37 countries. “We expect FISITA 2012 to provide an international stage for Chinese automotive engineers and to open a window for the Chinese automotive industry to the entire world and vice versa,” Crane Fan summarized.

CAEMEX – Annual exhibition for the automobile industry

From 2013 on, NürnbergMesse China will join hands with SAE-China to launch an independent trade show with the name CAEMEX: China Automotive Engineering and Manufacturing Expo, which will be accompanying to the Annual Congress of SAE-China. “Since the FISITA 2012 Exhibition is on its way to the leading event in the Chinese automotive exhibition market, we see potential for an annual show to be the first technical communication platform for the automotive industry in China,” Crane Fan explained. CAEMEX will be a trade show customized for car OEM suppliers and manufacturing companies to present their latest solutions in the fields of future power train, key components, manufacturing equipment and technologies. “As CEO of NürnbergMesse Group and Chairman of the board of NürnbergMesse China, I am delighted about the new project and strong partnership in this beautiful and multi-faceted country”, ads Dr. Roland Fleck.
