Fairchild Semiconductor has been named a winner in Electronic Product’s China(EPC) annual Top-10 DC-DC Power Product Awards 2010. This is the sixth time Fairchild has received this prestigious award.
This year, Fairchild featured the FDMC7570S 25V MOSFET family. The FDMC7570S enables thinner, lighter and more compact power supply solutions, while continuing to deliver high efficiency and excellent thermal enhancements.

The award-winning device, a 25V MOSFET, delivers the lowest RDS(ON) in a 3mm x 3mm MLP package in the industry – providing unmatched efficiency and junction temperature improvements. With an RDS(ON) of 1.6mOhm at 10VGS (2.3mOhm 4.5VGS), it delivers fifty percent lower conduction losses than alternate solutions in the same form factor – bringing designers the highest power density achievable today.

“The FDMC7570S meets the global demand for technologies that reduce power consumption and subsequently enables greater energy efficiency,” said Benjamin Tan, Fairchild’s regional vice president of Sales and Marketing, China and South East Asia. “Fairchild is at the forefront in meeting these technological challenges. We’re pleased to see our efforts recognized within the industry by being selected for awards such as EPC’s Top-10 DC-DC Product.”

EPC, one of China’s most authoritative electronics industry trade publications, selected from a range of DC-DC power products that were eligible for its Top 10 DC-DC Product Awards. Fairchild’s FDMC7570S was chosen following a three-stage judging process. This process included the publication’s editorial staff, readers’ votes and an expert judging panel. Chip manufacturers’ DC products were evaluated against a number of categories such as design innovation, price, performance and technology advancement.

Fairchild delivers product performance improvements in the FDMC7570S as a direct result of its advanced proprietary PowerTrench® process technology, which yields an exceptionally low RDS(ON), total gate charge (QG) and Miller Charge (QGD). As an added benefit, these MOSFETs feature a proprietary shielded gate architecture which reduces undesired high-frequency switching noise.

In addition, the output capacitance (COSS) and reverse recovery charge (Qrr) have been minimized to reduce synchronous MOSFET losses in a buck conversion – enhancements that result in high peak efficiencies, presently unmatched by alternative devices.

The FDMC7570S is available in the ultra-compact Power33, 3.3mm x 3.3mm MLP package.

“Fairchild is honored to have been chosen, yet again, by EPC and its readers for this prestigious award. We are proud of the award success of the FDMC7570S and the fact that this device offers system design engineers compelling advantages in power designs for new industrial, computing and telecommunications systems,” Tan concluded.
