Esterel Technologies and Ultra Electronics – Electrics announce collaboration agreement
Esterel Technologies and Ultra Electronics – Electrics today announced a collaboration agreement to promote each others best of class tools, systems engineering and integration capabilities.
Under the agreement the two organisations have agreed to jointly promote their respective capabilities and offerings in safety-critical and high-integrity system design and development. As experienced practitioners of the SCADE software environment - through work already performed on AHED (Advanced Hybrid Electric Drive) and A400M - Ultra Electronics - Electrics are at the cutting edge of using new software tools to accelerate the development of safety critical products and systems. The potential for SCADE to be used in the development of civil/military UAVs and business jets has been recognised as a key market opportunity for both firms.
EricSCADE software complies with strict standards and guidelines, such as the avionics standard RTCA DO-178B and EUROCAE EB-12B Levels A, B and C, along with industry standard IEC 61508. SCADE 6.0 provides the breakthrough capability a unified modelling, verification and certified code generation capability called the ‘Unified Modelling Style’ that enables embedded systems and software developers to freely combine and nest arrayed data flow elements and state machines in a single, fully integrated environment.
Mark Doyle, Managing Director of Ultra Electronics – Electrics said: “The SCADE suite enables Ultra to develop applications in the compressed timescale demanded by our customers and is considered a key enabling tool for the business”.
Existing modelling solutions rely on the collaboration between two independent modelling editors; however, SCADE 6.0 Unified Modelling Style simplifies the life of the safety-critical application developer. Now, the developer can focus on the productivity of the modelling activity, in the knowledge that all the certification and verification optimisation benefits of the previous SCADE releases are maintained.
