EnOcean Alliance Exhibits Flexible, Energy Saving Products at M&E 2010
The EnOcean Alliance, together with supporting partners MK Electric, Distech Controls, EnOcean GmbH, WAGO and Wieland, will show a wide variety of innovative wireless products for green buildings on stand C104 at M&E – the building services event, 6-7 October, London Olympia. Utilising products based on EnOcean self-powered wireless technology means buildings can reduce carbon footprint by lowering energy use, whilst also greatly simplifying the internal cabling, minimising maintenance requirements and allowing faster response to configuration changes in the future.
A stDistech Controls will demonstrate a range of open control solutions that allow choice, advanced functionality and cost efficiency for engineers, integrators, distributors, OEMs and building owners. Included in this range are the company’s digital controllers which are fitted with an EnOcean wireless receiver to allow data from the wireless, batteryless sensors and switches to be sent to an open LonWorks or EC-Net AX web-based, multi-protocol platform.
EnOcean GmbH will be exhibiting the new Dolphin platform, which enables the use of self-powered and bidirectional wireless sensors and actuators for the first time. This means that the new EnOcean STM 300, TCM 300 and TCM 320 sensor modules can transmit information as well as receive it – resulting in more convenience, safety and flexibility in building services engineering.
WAGO will show its radio receiver for the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM highlighting how innovative solutions are opening up new possibilities in building automation, both technically and aesthetically. The EnOcean-enabled batteryless radio receiver enables difficult building areas (such as glass partitions) to be easily linked together without cables.
In addition to the above, Wieland will display its plug and play gateway for connecting KNX to the wireless EnOcean system. The gateway allows around 100 KNX group addresses to be assigned to batteryless wireless EnOcean switches allowing KNX to expand within the emerging field of EnOcean devices
There are currently over 500 different products based on EnOcean technology on the market today and all are fully interoperable. This means that solutions from different manufacturers can communicate with one another and work together in one and the same complex building automation system. In the recently published, initial open specification for energy harvesting wireless sensors, the EnOcean Alliance has taken the first step towards establishing EnOcean technology as an international standard.
