Energy Efficiency products from RS Components

Energy efficient electronic components reduce the power requirements of designs leading to significant energy savings and the subsequent reduction of global CO2 emissions. Energy efficiency is a key consideration for designers, as consumers demand products with lower ownership costs, extended lifetimes and smaller carbon footprints. Products that waste less power generate less internal heat, so operate at lower temperatures, consequently increasing the life of a design.

RS’ Solutions for Energy Efficiency save engineers time by providing the latest systems, modules and components for a complete solution. The products which span over 40 different technologies have been selected to include the latest and most efficient products from seven core technologies. Power supplies, power management devices and other semiconductors are central to the range, with wireless, passives, energy harvesting, displays and solid state lighting making up the support and peripheral elements. Drive efficiency accounts for over 70% of the range covering 500 lines. The launch features products which can reduce the energy consumption of designs by up to 35%, helping businesses gain a competitive advantage through market leading energy efficiency.

Integral to the range are a number of energy harvesting products to exploit natural, renewable energy sources. These include wind and solar power products together with their associated regulators and batteries. Also featured are EnOcean wireless control, switching and sensing products that don’t need external power or batteries as all the power is generated internally.
Passives are also available including ultra compact power inductors from Würth.

A selection of peripheral devices complements the entire offering with various wireless and display options for the engineer to choose from. RS has also selected the Golden Dragon LED range from Osram, one of the market leaders in solid state lighting solutions.

Solutions for Energy Efficiency is the first RS Technology Solutions launch which is not technology specific, offering customers products across a range of technologies.
