DEK Solar continues awards-run with Global Technology accolade
DEK Solar has added to its 2010 awards success with the addition of a prestigious Global Technology Award. Evidence of the solar cell manufacturing equipment specialist’s continued success in the alternative energies field, the award celebrated DEK Solar’s ongoing innovation commitment.
The Commenting on the award, DEK Solar’s Alternative Energy Business Manager Darren Brown explains: “The Global Technology Awards is a well-respected programme so I’m delighted that we have won this prestigious accolade. The PV3000 is a pioneering solar platform that has introduced a range of benefits for solar cell manufacturers, not least high throughput related to its multiple print head set-up. However, the fact that we’ve now eclipsed even this platform highlights our commitment to innovation even further. Having recently launched the Eclipse platform, we’ve introduced another pioneering metallization solution to the industry, offering customers a highly scalable production advantage.”
The Eclipse solar metallization platform features a unique modular design concept.
Incorporating a series of field-retrofittable process modules, Eclipse enables manufacturers to easily scale production to 1200, 2400 or 3600 wph - as demand dictates. Furthermore, for manufacturers who foresee a production ramp, the metallization line can be designed accordingly, by inserting spacer process modules equipped with conveyors where future production modules will be added in. When the time is right to increase throughput capability, these spacers can simply be swapped out for additional functional capacity. Darren concludes: “Representing an industry-first, we hope Eclipse continues the successful awards-run we’ve enjoyed with both the PV1200 and PV3000!”
