CSR (LSE: CSR) has announced that it is sponsoring world famous yachtsman, Pete Goss MBE, on his latest voyage. Working with Team Concise, Goss will be racing in the historic Route du Rhum, a transatlantic single-handed yacht race, which takes places every four years. The race is between Saint Malo, Brittany, France and Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. Starting on Sunday 31st October 2010, Goss has partnered with Team Concise, winners of last year’s Class 40 World Championship, to enter a brand new boat in the 3,500-mile race.
Goss is racing in the Concise 2 Class 40 yacht and will be making use of the full range of technology on board. Concise 2 has been fitted out for the season with state of the art navigation and communication systems, and Goss will be wearing Garmin’s new Forerunner 110 GPS-enabled sports watch. Using SiRFstarIV technology it provides accurate route and altitude at every step from Garmin’s Training Centre and Google Earth, and will also monitor Goss’ heart rate throughout the race.

“CSR is well known for being at the forefront of innovation. Our support of Pete in his latest series of challenging races shows that we support innovation in whatever form it takes,” said Kanwar Chadha, Chief Marketing Officer at CSR. “As one of the world’s leading yachtsmen, Pete needs to depend on the technology he uses and CSR delivers location awareness that he can rely on. We all wish him the best of luck.”
