Connor is investing £3.6 million in a three year programme to extend its manufacturing site and increase its electronics production capabilities. The programme will involve the near doubling of its production facility to 50,000 sq ft and will create a further 60 skilled electronic engineering and assembly jobs. The expansion will include investment in new electronic production technologies as part of plans for further growth in niche electronics products used in the medical, industrial, aerospace and energy sectors.
Established in 1999 as a buy out from Invensys Appliance Control Technology Europe, Connor has successfully built an international customer base in highly specialist, low to medium volume electronics manufacturing services.

The company is involved in the manufacture of a range of high value, sophisticated electronic assemblies and also successfully provides outsourced global logistics and order management services support to clients.

With the new investment for the expansion now in place, Connor is aiming to grow turnover from the current £11million to a projected £20 million within three years.

Connor managing director, Dermot Guerin, said: “The investment will allow us to forge ahead with our strategic plan for market growth.

“Our strategy is to develop long term relationships with select customers in a number of key market areas where our technical capability and manufacturing expertise gives us real advantages and opportunities.

“The plant expansion will particularly help us to extend our capability in global logistics support, which is very demanding on space availability, and investment in new technology will further increase the speed and flexibility of our specialist manufacturing services.”

Connor has completed the acquisition of buildings and land required for the expansion, which is being supported with assistance from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills’ Regional Growth Fund.
