New CamdenBoss Enclosure and Interconnection Products at electronica 2012
CamdenBoss has today revealed that it will be launching a number of new products across its enclosure, interconnection and industrial control ranges at the forthcoming Electronica 2012 exhibition, November 13 to 16, Messe Munich, Germany. CamdenBoss is exhibiting on stand 149 in hall A2.
New enclosures being launched at Electronica include the 71 and 72 series flanged IP66 cases. The 71 series offers a large, robust enclosure with IP66 sealing gasket that is ideal for outdoor applications. Moulded in black, UV stable, UL94-V0 polycarbonate, the 71 series features mounting flanges on the base, recessed cover, PCB mounting bosses in the base and cover and fitted silicone rubber gasket for dust and moisture resistance. 72 series wall-mounted IP66 rated cases are moulded from durable, impact resistant UV stabilised UL94-V0 polycarbonate featuring mounting flanges on base, recessed cover with transparent options and captive stainless steel screws threaded into brass inserts.
There is also a new range of UL94-V0 small potting enclosures – the 200 series. Manufactured in black or white ABS for high rigidity and impact strength, these new enclosures are ideal for encapsulating and protecting electronic components and feature a lid secured with four fixing screws.
CamdenBoss is also launching a new versatile modular DIN rail mounting enclosure that is designed to match instrument cases. Using CamdenBoss’s standard accessories such as terminal guards and
covers from the existing CNMB range, the new instrument cases can be provided as solid versions for custom milling and the front face can be screen printed to customer specifications. Moulded in UL94-V0 polycarbonate, these new instrument cases offer vented top and bottom options and the 100mm depth allows use of large PCBs.
An innovative range of Raspberry Pi enclosures in various colours are also being shown on the CamdenBoss stand. Designed to house the iconic credit-card sized low-cost computer via clip-in grooves in the base shell, the CamdenBoss enclosures are available in a wide range of mix-and-match colours, enabling users to create an individual look in a similar fashion to accessorising their mobile phones. Market research has shown this to be a very popular option and the CamdenBoss Raspberry Pi enclosures feature all cut-outs pre-cut into the case with optional knock-outs. Rubber feet are fitted as standard and there is a LED light pipe accessory available as an optional extra.
A colourful range of die-cast aluminium enclosures is also being launched at Electronica. Available in red, yellow, green and blue as standard, the new 5000 series are easy to CNC customise and will also have custom colour options.
The CamdenBoss 7500 series Custocases offer six different custom sized enclosure designs manufactured to order on short lead-times. Produced to exact size specifications with no design or tooling charges, these versatile enclosures are available in various material colours and specifications. Manufactured in HIPS or ABS, the 7500 series offers UL94-V0 option with CNC milling of holes, cut-outs, vents, pockets, pillars and windows with screen printing, engraving and overlays available to customer requirements.
New products from CamdenBoss’s terminal blocks range include the CTB90VG, a PCB terminal block with screws and wire entry on one side making it ideal for mounting on sides of enclosures; the CTB92TG, an in-line terminal block plug with screws and wires on one side making it useful where horizontal space is limited; and the CTBA9308/P, a panel mounting pluggable terminal block for projects where no PCB is used opening up wide opportunities for applications in the electrical, lighting and HVAC markets.
There is also a new range of DIN rail/wall mounting interface modules offering USBA, USBB, RJ45, IDC and D-connectors. Designed for the industrial control, automation and research and development markets, these new modules are designed to reduce inventory count and provide access for downloading data into modern IT systems.
A new range of 5.08mm pitch screwless pluggable terminal blocks is also being shown alongside CamdenBoss’s Minipower and Micropower PCB wire to board and wire to wire connection systems.
On the control products side, CamdenBoss is launching a new industrial die-cast unguarded footswitch for heavy duty applications. The versatile multiple contact block configuration options make this ideal for all footswitch applications while the anti-slip foot pedal and rubber feet ensure safe operation.
Another important development for the company this year will be the launch of a new website, combining the Camden Electronics and Boss Enclosures product lines for the first time. This is a very significant step forward as it has been set up with distributors and engineers in mind. The site will ensure it takes no more than three clicks to get to the information a user needs whether that is a
datasheet or 3D drawing. It is also linked directly to the company’s ERP system so that distributors can check real-time free stock levels and, when specifications are updated on the website, this is automatically reflected on the ERP system and vice versa.
