Atmel's VaultIC Module Offers Easy-to-Implement Security to Prevent IP Stealing
Atmel announced a new turnkey security module to protect brand and IP (intellectual property) against counterfeiting and cloning. Based on Atmel's AT90SO secureAVR microcontrollers, the VaultIC200 is the newest member of the VaultIC(TM) product family - a family that offers secure microcontrollers with multiple interfaces and bundled security firmware. Atmel's VaultIC200 can protect against cloning of various applications including ink and toner cartridges, computer and gaming console accessories, white goods, batteries and battery chargers, mp3 players, Bluetooth® earphones, smart energy meters and more.
SoluAtmel's new VaultIC family offers designers enhanced functionality, a new interface with rapid computation of all standard cryptography algorithms, and higher security to protect both the keys and data. These products are also embedded with high-levels of firmware and include Atmel's secureAVR microcontrollers that are Common Criteria EAL4+/EAL5+ certified to provide high security, performance and lower power consumption. The VaultIC200 provides more than 2.5 KB of fully configurable EEPROM memory to store user data and match any security architecture. It can easily be integrated in any system thanks to its various interfaces (High Speed SPI, I²C, GPIOs, ISO7816 [smartcard standard interface]).
