Analog Devices has announced the creation of a European automotive Sales and Marketing organisation led by Stefan Steyerl, European Automotive Sales Director, Analog Devices Inc. The automotive sector in Europe continues to evolve in response to regulatory and customer demand, with automotive manufactures increasingly designing cutting-edge electronics in their vehicles to give them a competitive advantage.
Analog Devices has over 40 years of signal processing experience. It applies this to the automotive industry through technologies that reduce fuel and energy consumption, improve safety, and provide in-cabin entertainment and information. As the industry integrates increasingly sophisticated electronics into its vehicles, ADI innovation is behind many of the features of hybrid cars, engine start-stop systems, energy management, the reuse of brake energy and engine control measures. ADI’s signal processing technology is also used to provide features such as living room quality audio and video in cars, reliable motion sensing for electronic stability control, and safety features such as airbag deployment and rollover protection.

“Europe continues to be a very important region in the automotive sector, with a number of marquee brands,” said Thomas Wessel, Vice President, European Sales and Marketing. “In his role as European Sales Director Automotive, Stefan Steyerl will work closely with our automotive customers to help them leverage ADI’s technology to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Stefan brings extensive knowledge of the industry coupled with a wide range of expertise which will support our existing customers and help develop their ideas.”

Stefan Steyerl began his career at Analog Devices Germany in 1993 as an applications engineer. He later focused on ADI’s DSP business where he held various applications and marketing responsibilities including Director of the DSP Division in Europe. In addition he was also the worldwide Marketing Director driving the key automotive strategies for the ADIs DSP Division. Stefan Steyerl graduated with a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University in Munich, Germany.
