Agilent Acquires AT4 Wireless Test Systems Business, Expands Wireless Test Portfolio
Agilent has today announced that AT4 wireless’ Test Systems business assets are now part of Agilent. The two companies had announced an acquisition agreement on July 16. Financial details were not disclosed. The former AT4 wireless Test Systems products are now available for sale directly from Agilent and Agilent’s channel partners.
This“Completion of this acquisition is critical to Agilent’s strategy to be the test solution vendor of choice for the world’s leading device suppliers,” said Joe DePond, vice president and general manager Agilent’s Mobile Broadband Operation. “The level of industry investment in wireless and wireless test is unprecedented, and we are thrilled to add this talented team and their technology to further extend the breadth of solutions that we offer. Our customers need cost-effective solutions, extensive and approved test coverage and great support. With today’s announcement we can further help our customers meet their time-to-market challenges.”
“We’re delighted to grow our R&D, marketing and support teams with this acquisition, and together with a powerful platform architecture we are positioned to contribute a great deal more to the wireless ecosystem,” said Garrett Lees, marketing manager of Agilent’s Mobile Broadband Operation. “In LTE, we have now augmented the most versatile functional test solution set on the market, based on the PXT, with a new family of products that provide comprehensive RCT, PCT and RRM test coverage.”
RCT, PCT and RRM are industry standard test plans that device vendors are required to pass in order to reach certification and commercial release. The GCF and PTCRB play a role in regulating this process. Agilent is an established provider of test solutions in these domains, and with the acquisition of AT4 wireless Test Systems, now offers the broadest array of test solutions in the industry.
