Big growth plans for 5G and Edge computing platform

Neutroon, a management and orchestration software, simplifies the integration of new wireless technologies for network operators and businesses, making the promise of these advanced technologies more accessible than ever.

So far, Neutroon has successfully secured £2m in funding alongside £1.5 million in R&D grants. With a global team exceeding 25 members, the company aims to add 15 more roles in engineering and sales by year-end. Its hardware-independent Cloud portal and API offer a unified operating system for managing various private 5G and Edge computing networks. This centralised approach allows network operators and enterprise IT teams to oversee complex wireless networks efficiently through a single interface, catering to business needs with enhanced reliability and security. These features are critical for supporting sophisticated applications in IoT, robotics, and AR/VR across sectors such as logistics, real estate, construction, utilities, and manufacturing.

Neutroon, predominantly employing remote staff in software development and telecom engineering, is expanding to penetrate new markets in the US and Latin America and introduce innovative features. These include eSIM management, SLA engines, AI agents, and support for more top telecom brands.

The company's strategic move into the CBRS US market last year, through a partnership with a nationwide distributor, has been a significant factor in its ambitious growth strategy for the coming months.

Looking ahead to 2024, Neutroon is poised to grow in tandem with the private 5G market, which, according to Analysis Mason, is expected to see an 800% increase and reach £6.3 billion by 2028. The projected expansion from 4,000 networks in 2022 to over 60,000 underscores the rapidly growing demand for these technologies. Furthermore, data from The UK Wireless Infrastructure Strategy indicates that currently, 77% of the UK population has access to basic 5G services, highlighting the vast potential for growth in this area.

Speaking about the company’s plans to grow its headcount in 2024 and continue its expansion, Christopher Gehlen, Neutroon’s Co-Founder, and CEO, said: “We are very, very optimistic about 2024 and the years to come. 2023 was a year of consolidation of the industry. Many large corporations announced moving from pilots to full-blown implementations at a worldwide scale, and demand has significantly picked up. The value of Private 5G has been proven and we will see more innovation this year with new technologies converging into this space. These technologies include eSIM, Gen-AI, satellite-5G, and OpenGateway, which will enable new use cases and add even more value to enterprises. We expect to almost, if not double the size of our team over the next twelve months. We are currently fundraising to leverage our competitive advantage and secure our position with large MNOs. Many of them are struggling to operate these heterogeneous networks, and we have a great solution for them. One that is flexible, scalable, customisable, secure, and an API layer to drive further monetisation in the enterprise segment."
