Anritsu says it is leading the way in both 5G protocol and RF carrier acceptance test (CAT) coverage for a Tier 1 U.S. operator. Anritsu has achieved leading 5G protocol coverage, with more than 200 test cases now available. The only other approved test vendor is validated for 81% of Anritsu’s total, giving Anritsu an advantage at mobile device manufacturers planning to use the operator’s carrier acceptance tests.

Anritsu also leads test vendors in 5G protocol CAT across U.S. operators with 5G carrier acceptance programs. Anritsu says it is the first test vendor to exceed 300 cumulative test cases across U.S. operators, with nearly a 10% advantage over the nearest competitor.

Anritsu has also achieved 100% coverage of Frequency Range 1 (FR1) and Frequency Range 2 (FR2) RF CAT for the Tier 1 U.S. operator.

This means it is the only supplier to cover all FR1 and FR2 RF test cases for devices entering the operator’s ecosystem.

Protocol and RF, FR1/sub-6 GHz capability is provided by Anritsu’s Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A, which gives mobile-terminal vendors requiring efficient tests with strong cost-performance covering a wide range of conditions.

RF FR2/millimeter wave (mmWave) capability is supplied by the same MT8000A in Anritsu’s New Radio RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR, which integrates Anritsu’s CATR Anechoic Chamber MA8172A.

Protocol FR2/mmWave capability is supplied by the same MT800A in Anritsu’s 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NRwith Anritsu’s RF Chamber MA8171A.

The ME7873NR is an automated system for 3GPP TS38.521/TS38.533-defined 5G NR RF/RRM tests.

It supports both planned 5G NR Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes, and when combined with Anritsu’s 5G over-the-air (OTA) CATR Anechoic Chamber MA8172A covers all 5G frequency bands, including sub-6 GHz and mmWave.

The flexible system configuration can be customised easily for the measurement conditions while also supporting LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and W-CDMA RF tests, as well as CAT.

An upgrade from the LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System ME7873LA to add 5G support offers a cost-effective RF test system meeting required test conditions.
